Follow these steps to track the student's progress:
If you need assistance, please call 248-452-9174.
Other Guidelines for teachers:
-
If Saturday or Sunday is a Sabbath day for a student, have the student log their steps from the previous day or take their average from the week.
-
Teachers and school personnel have the right to disqualify or set ground rules for a student if they feel the student is not following contest rules or is cheating.
-
All first, second and third place prizes are raffled. Prizes are only an incentive to get the kids moving and give them reason to keep up the good work.
-
If a pedometer is lost or broken, a replacement pedometer can be purchased from a local sports/department store at the parent or school's expense.
-
Pedometers may accidentally reset to zero. If this occurs, the child is allowed to record the total steps logged on the previous day.
-
Supplement the program with lessons about physical activity & healthy eating.
Step Guidelines:
About 2,000 steps=1 mile. The national goal is for individuals to achieve 10,000 steps or more. Children typically average 15,000-20,000 steps a day. An equivalent of 5 miles and 45-60 minutes of exercise daily.
